Commissioner Berkbigler stated the residents of IV/CB don’t want to ban STRs, but instead want regulations. She also stated the County doesn’t have the funding needed to enforce a ban on STRs. Therefore, the County is in the process of developing guidelines using the Best Practices for Neighborhood Compatibility developed by TRPA (here are the proposed TRPA Guidelines). Neighborhood/Subdivision CCRs and HOA rules are expected to restrict the locations of STRs.  Click to view our website BLOG which contains a few subdivision CCRs.
Funding for enforcement would come from permit and inspection fees and fines. Commissioner Berkbigler has stated the enforcement must be budget neutral.
