On January 25, 2022 the Washoe County Commissioners will review the STR Ordinance they approved in March 2021. The approved ordinance can be found at:
The Commissioners announced they would collect data and review the Ordinance to make changes based on data. In October 19, 2021 Washoe County Planners presented an overview of their STR activities, summarizing their application and permitting data, and giving preliminary data regarding violations and enforcement. At that meeting, IVCB residents were able to comment on the presentation.
At the meeting Planners suggested two changes to the Ordinance: (a) an increase in occupancy using a new calculation formula, and (b) an increase in permit fees by $90/hour to allow for additional safety inspection time prior to permit approval.
The upcoming meeting on Tuesday January 25th will be the first time IVCB residents will have a formal opportunity to suggest changes to the STR Ordinance. Click here to view agenda item 20 along with the staff update and recommendations,
